You can access your documents and the school “desktop” when away from the school. You will need to have an Internet connection to do so.


Signing into Remote Access


1. Access the remote client by going to the following link specific to the school

2. Use the dropdown box to select Georgian Gardens as the Domain and click 'Next'


3. Enter your school provided Username and Password in the respective boxes and click 'Next'


4. On the next screen, we will use the button on the upper half of the screen called 'NetExtender'. 


5. After selecting this, you will get a popup box, in this box you need to select the 'Installed' button. This will install NetExtender onto your device.


6. After installing, you will be able to use the NetExtender icon on your desktop to login to and access the remote service.


7. NetExtender works by creating a secure connection between your device and the server, allowing you to use resources at home, as if you were onsite. You need to open this icon and log in, then use your laptop as normal, making sure to disconnect before you leave your device.


ICT Acceptable Use Policy

All staff are reminded that the ICT acceptable use policy is applicable when using the network remotely and that you must logoff as you would in school. Failure to logoff properly could limit your access at a later date as the system will think you are still logged on from before. 

 

MIS and school emails must not be left open or used for anything apart from educational purposes at any time including when accessed remotely.
